Donald A. Anderson

Donald A. "Don" Anderson, age 56 of Maple Grove and formerly of Hastings, passed away suddenly but peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, February 27, 2025.

Donald Andrew, the son of Kenneth and Marilyn (Williams) Anderson, was born on November 10, 1968, in Hastings. From a young age, Donny enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, fishing and playing video games. The family camping trips were a favorite time for Don. Don was active with the Scouts and also challenged himself by trying different sports such as hockey, football and skiing throughout his school years.

While attending Hastings High School, he participated in band and choir. Don was also active in the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Youth Group and enjoyed the opportunity to travel with Mission Mexico '87. Following his graduation with the class of 1987, Don worked in the fast-food industry. He enjoyed those he worked with at the 3 locations he worked between.

Even with multiple medical concerns throughout his life, Don was always content and made the best of everything he faced. As his health forced him to not work anymore, Don liked listening to music, talking with friends, watching TV, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. He was grateful for his friends and second family members at Plateau Healthcare, and truly enjoyed the opportunity to live there since 2016. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Marilyn; and by his younger brother, David.

Don is survived by his father, Kenneth Anderson; sister, Wendy Anderson; and by many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday morning.

Don's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Plateau Healthcare. Your loving care for Don over the years will forever be cherished by our family.
