Diane (Thue) Rother

Diane LaVonne (Thue) Rother, age 65 of Eagan, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday morning, December 16, 2023, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Diane, daughter of DeLoss and Esther Thue, was born on September 19, 1958, in Starbuck, Minnesota. They moved to Hastings, and she became a proud graduate of Hastings High School in 1976. Diane was married to Steve Rother on October 13, 1979, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings. She enjoyed a career working for Thomson Reuters f/k/a West Publishing for 15 years, but was ultimately called to motherhood, and she and Steve were blessed with Philip and Kelsey Rother.

Diane was a fantastic hostess; she always made time for everybody. She was charming, had a beautiful smile, plenty of wit, and a signature laugh that anybody could recognize. Diane was a generous spirit, always putting so much time and energy into her relationships. The bright light that Diane brought to this world, and all who loved her, will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two older sisters, Patricia Davies and Elizabeth Wiegrefe; her brother, David; and nephew, Bryan Thompson.

Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband Steve; children Philip and Kelsey Rother; siblings Dan (Mary) Thue, Lori (Tim) Thompson; 13 nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held at 11 a.m. on January 6th, 2024 at Easter Lutheran Church, 4200 Pilot Knob Road, Eagan, with visitation one hour prior. A light luncheon will be provided following the service at the church. After, the burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings, with the immediate family attending.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to go to cancer research or the Crohn's Society.
