Delma Dalane, age 94, danced peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
She was born to Henry and Adeline (Fethke) Wendt June 29th, 1930, on a farm in Foster, Wisconsin.
In 1952, she married Myron (Mike) Lange, had 3 children and created an amazing life for her family, many cousins and children of family friends. The family dairy farm was basically like summer camp for many kids. They would get dropped off and stay for various lengths of time, some for a week and some for the entire summer. She would cook and bake for everyone, all the years the children were young. The smell of cinnamon rolls is still a vivid memory for many.
In 1970 she took her first job away from the home and worked at Presto for many years. Once they closed the plant, she continued working in a variety of different fields. She held a few different retail positions, helped her daughter in her business, worked as an in-home personal care attendant and finished her time working at Rockwell Automation.
In 1974, she married her second husband when she met while working at Presto. They enjoyed dancing and traveling.
Especially in her younger years, she rode horses quite a bit, including in several parades. She loved music and dabbled in playing several instruments. She also had an incredible love for dance that lasted her entire life. Nothing could stop her feet when she heard an inviting beat. She was notorious for coming up with some of the most creative and unique, but usually very workable solutions to situations.
Preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, husband(s) and grandson. She will be missed by children Sandy (Jack) Wagener, Jeff (Karen) Lange, and Laurie Lange. Grandchildren Samuel (Toni) Wagener, 2 great grandchildren (Finley and Emerson).
Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Suite Living West St. Paul. They really “got her” and loved her for all of her quirks. She was definitely “at home” there and we are so glad we found and moved her there to spend the last year of her life. We value how much they genuinely appreciated who she really was. And also, to Brighton Hospice who worked with us through the last few weeks. The care and attention they gave to her and to us, as a family, is deeply appreciated.
A private service will be held for family in Wisconsin.
