Debra L. Lesmeister

Debra L. Lesmeister, age 61, of Hastings passed away peacefully with her husband, Mike, August 29, 2023 at home.

Debra and Mike met in prison working for the Department of Corrections. They always enjoyed telling people how they met in prison just to see the look on their face. Debra had a good sense of humor that would light up any room. Over the years, Debra loved cooking, gardening, and canning. She was an avid nature lover who took part in Greenpeace and enjoyed bird and butterfly watching. She always wanted to work at a nursery, or be a conservationist. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Preceded in death by her father, Luther LeVesseur; sister, Jody LeVesseur.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Mike; mother, Ruth LeVesseur; siblings, Suzanne (David Burbank) Elsenpeter, Steven (Kathy) LeVesseur, Mark LeVesseur; sister-in-laws, Mary (Jim Kampa) Lesmeister, Kathy (Greg Halbert) Devine, Diane (Rob) LeVasseur, Judy (Scott) Wohnoutka; furry friends, Itchy & Scratchy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be having a private family Celebration of Life to honor Debra's life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
