David R. Anderson

David R. Anderson, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024 at his home in Hastings.

David grew up on Spirit Lake in Menagha, Minnesota. He served in the Navy for four years and then moved to North Dakota to attend engineering school. He met his wife, Lorelie Kissling and were married on January 9, 1960 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. David worked for Remington Rand for his entire career, retiring after 31 years. During his retirement, David enjoyed going on many fishing trips to Canada with his brother, Leonard and returning to his hometown to spend time at his cabin on Spirit Lake.

David was a true family man, a grandpa to many. He was always willing to lend a hand and help those in need. In return, during the past five years, many came to help David in his time of need, for which he was truly grateful.

David is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorelie; children, David (Kathy), Dawn (Todd) Siebenaler, Diana (Jon) Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Diana Anderson; Joan McIntyre; grandchildren, Katie (Andy) Otto, Jeffrey (Kristina) Mitchell, Colleen (Mitch) Larson, John Anderson, Andrew Mitchell, Abigal Anderson, Lilly Anderson, William Anderson, Claudia McIntyre; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kyler and Maddyn Otto, Mila Mitchell, Wesley and Mckenna Larson; sister-in-law, Kandy (Russ) Unger; brother-in-law, Steven Kissling; and by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Bradley; parents, William and Agnes (Knudson); brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Emma Anderson; sister, Lillian Anderson; and by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rona and David Madsen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, Hastings with visitation one hour prior to the time of the service. Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will follow.
