David A. Thue

David A. "Dave" Thue, age 68 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Friday evening, August 11, 2023, just two days after his birthday.

David Alan, the son of DeLoss and Esther (Overgaard) Thue, was born on August 9, 1955, in Starbuck, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1973, Dave continued his education at St. Cloud State and the University of Minnesota where he took night classes, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Dave was united in marriage to Judy Ryan, and they were blessed with two children, Joshua and Nicole. Dave was a longtime CPA for various firms and cherished the many friendships he made along the way. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, downhill skiing with friends, and truly loved the many rounds of golf he was able to play. In his professional career, Dave was actively involved in both the AICPA and MSCPA Associations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DeLoss and Esther Thue; sisters, Patricia Davies and Elizabeth Wiegrefe; and by his nephew, Bryan Thompson.

Dave is survived by his children, Josh (Lindsey) Thue and Nikki (Matt) Hruby; grandchildren, Ryan, Ben, and Max Thue, Brenna, Aidan, and Chase "Champ" Green, and Addie, Eloise, and Finn Hruby; former wife, Judy; siblings, Dan (Mary) Thue, Diane (Steve) Rother, and Lori (Tim) Thompson; brothers-in-law, John Davies and Jerry Wiegrefe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and to a reception immediately following service, all at the church on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Interment will take place after the reception at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings, Minnesota.
