Daniel S. Finley

Daniel "Danny" Finley, 44, of Hastings went to his Heavenly home on May 31, 2022. He was born to Steven and Nancy Finley in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Danny was Home Educated and then graduated from Christian Life School in Farmington. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and worked corrections mainly for Dakota County for about 15 years. He enjoyed his job and believed everyone deserves a second chance. He cared about people. Danny enjoyed fishing and participated in several Bass fishing tournaments with his friend Tim. For many years he 'cut' music with Jan Tripp for dance competitions and the dance shows. He proudly co-owned Dickey's Barbecue in Hastings with his friend Jae. Danny's greatest enjoyment was making food for family and friends. He loved to use his smoker and always made more than enough to share. He also, with the help of his brother Jaime and 'other brother' Josh, put on huge Crawfish boils. He loved to cook and feed everyone!! Danny was good to everyone, showed us how to give grace and care for others. He truly was a friend to everyone, and kindly told it straight. He is survived by his parents, and siblings James (Renae) and niece Amara, Elisa (Ethan) and nephew Elliot, Mashayla, Timothy, Shatara, Christian, Robbie, Joey and favorite baby sister- Lilah. Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents and brothers Kenny, David and Oliver. Visitation will be Thursday, June 9 from 4:00pm - 7:00 pm at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel. Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 10 at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
