Christopher "Chris" J. Anderson

Christopher James Anderson passed away Friday, December 1, 2023.

Chris was born September 8, 1969 in Rochester, MN, where he was baptized. He grew up in Janesville, MN, attending Janesville High School, graduating with the class of 1988, where he was active in wrestling, football and track. Upon graduation, he worked several years at UPS and Galyan's Sporting Goods. He spent most of his adult years working at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings, MN where he enjoyed talking and joking with the residents over his 20 years there and took great pride in serving our nation's veterans in their aging years. He most enjoyed talking about his kids, Abbey and Cael, and was very proud of the wonderful young adults they became. He also enjoyed cars, 80's music, fishing, pontooning, campfires, and spending time at his parent's lake home for many years. He loved cheering on the Vikings and other Minnesota teams, and playing foosball—having played competitively at local Twin Cities bars for several years.

He is survived by his children, Abbey and Cael, and their mother, Anne Anderson; his parents, Jim and Julie Anderson; sisters, Jill (Brett) Christianson, Amy (Scott) Weierke; nieces and nephews, Tucker and Stella Christianson, and Damon, Nick, and Reese Weierke.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold Anderson and Gladys Bliss, maternal grandparents, Richard and Virginia Horeck; and uncles, Tom Anderson, Doug Cole, Robert Horeck, and David Jennings.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2023 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel at 3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 1:00 p.m. with a luncheon after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Chris's children.
