Charles Henry Schlomka, age 63, of Cottage Grove, died suddenly but peacefully at Regions Hospital on Sunday evening, February 2, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1961, in West St. Paul to Hank and Carol (Grosskreutz) Schlomka and was the youngest of four children.
Charlie lived a simple and content life, finding joy in life’s everyday moments. He loved going to the movies and dining out, which quickly became his favorite pastimes. Charlie had a fondness for sweatshirts and T-shirts featuring pictures, often choosing clothes that reflected his personality. His newest favorite accessory was a brown cowboy hat, a cherished birthday gift from his brother Don. Those who knew Charlie will remember his kind heart, easygoing nature, and the warmth he brought to those around him.
Charlie is survived by his father, Hank Schlomka; sister, Cindy Schlomka; and brothers, Don and Bill Schlomka. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Schlomka.
A Celebration of Charlie's Life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Joseph's Grill (140 Wabasha Street South) in St. Paul. Everyone is invited to bring cookies and bars as we gather for Charlie.
Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
