Charles D. Morris

Charles “Chuck” D. Morris, age 81 of Cottage Grove, sadly left our world on June 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was born on August 29, 1942, to John and Dorothy (Carver) Morris in Minneapolis, MN. He was raised in Hastings, MN and graduated from Hastings High School in 1960. He served in the Naval Air and graduated from Winona State University before marrying the love of his life, Carol Bartl, in 1970. Together they had four beautiful children and raised them in West St. Paul.

Chuck spent his career in banking at Midwest Federal and finance with 3M Company. After retirement, Chuck and Carol hit the road and traveled around the U.S. in their fifth wheel making memories and enjoying their time together. He loved spending time at their cabin in Webster, WI with his family. Chuck is remembered for his supportive love for friends and family, willingness to always lend a helping hand, and his sarcastic witty humor.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carol; children Gwen Gammell, John (Melissa) Morris, Steven Morris, Christine (Jason) Tiffany; 8 loving grandchildren, Grace, Claire and Maggie Gammell, Bennett and Lilianna Morris, Amelia, Kathryn, and Mabel Tiffany; Uncle Eugene Morris; sibling Sharon (Morris) Robertson, sister-in-law Linda Morris and many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents Dorothy and John G. Morris, Sr; sibling John G. Morris, Jr.; and brother-in-law Charles Robertson.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Monday, July 15th at 11am at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St in Hastings, MN. A visitation will be held from 10am – 11am prior to the service. Private internment at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings, MN.

Memorials preferred to the American Red Cross in lieu of flowers.
