Caleb M. Cahill

Caleb Michael Cahill, age 23, of Hastings, MN, passed away unexpectedly in his home on September 12, 2024. Caleb was born in Hastings to Katy Jo Smith (Horsch) and Michael Joseph Cahill on March 29, 2001. He graduated from Hastings High School in 2019. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Caleb pursued a career in carpentry. Caleb enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Knife Lake in Mora, MN, where he spent much of his time hunting and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking, snowboarding, hockey, skateboarding, fireworks and blowing things up. Caleb was a creative artist who liked painting, chalk-work and spray painting/tagging. He was adventurous, loved exploring local caves or abandoned structures with friends and family. Most of all, Caleb loved hanging out with the O’Brien Clan.

Caleb was preceded in death by his great grandparents, great aunts and uncles.

Caleb is survived by his girlfriend, Jessica Kreig; his mother, Katy (Brian); his father, Michael (Cheryl); grandparents, Mike and Arlene Cahill, Dave Horsch, Shari Hastings (Keith); sisters, Cora Grunseth and Maddie Cahill; brother, Thomas Cahill; step brothers, Sean Gilbert, Cory Gilbert, Adrien Culp, and Alex Culp; aunt, Kari O’Brien; uncle, Tony (Debbi) Horsch; cousins, Dillon O’Brien (Marissa, daughter Sloane), Alec O’Brien (Lindsey, daughters Adalyn, Kenzlee), Colin O’Brien, Luke Trapp and Emily Trapp.

A public visitation will be held on September 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN.

A Celebration of life for Caleb will be held on September 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 12540 Lock Boulevard, Hastings, MN.
