Ayden "Chip" Nelson, age 17 of Prescott, died suddenly from injuries related to an automobile accident on Friday evening, February 10, 2023.
Ayden Patrick, the son of Jen Kabat and Nicholas Nelson, was born on October 18, 2005, in Hastings, Minnesota. From the time he was a little boy, Ayden loved his siblings, pets, playing with fire, and the Army. Ayden attended Ellsworth School District where he played football and participated in band and later transferred to Prescott Schools where he made many friendships that he kept to his final day. No matter the situation or event, Ayden had a high toleration for pain and adrenaline, often times leading him to push himself to the edge. He loved going to the family cabin in Comstock, Wisconsin, where he could be the kid he wanted to be by playing with guns, knives, and fireworks, and never missed the chance to go four wheeling or snowmobiling. He also enjoyed playing video games, drinking many cans of red Monster, and spending time with friends. Ayden was infamously known for his "squirreling" items away, but always used those talents to make it nearly impossible to hide something from him! Most of all, Ayden truly cherished his family throughout his life, and was especially grateful for his close friends. His smile was one that would always light up a room and was something you could never forget.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Robert and Jeanne Nelson, and Robert Metcalf; and by his uncle and godfather, Justin Warnke.
Ayden is survived by his parents, Jen (Eric) Kabat and Nicholas (Jess) Nelson; siblings, Lexi Nelson, Joseph Iago, Bri Tromberg, Avery Nelson, Chloe Kabat, and Carter Kabat; grandparents, Chuck and Roxane Nelson, Christine and Patrick Cornelius, Wayne and Cathy Warnke, Boomer and Candi Juelfs, and Patrick and Michelle Kabat; great grandparents, Dianne Metcalf, Barb and Dick Cornelius, and Barbara and Fredrick Demars; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
