Avis M. Robben

Avis M. Robben, age 87, of Hastings passed away on November 25, 2024.

Avis Marie Booen was born on July 26, 1937 in Woodside Township, MN to James Harold and Mabel (Krenz) Booen.

She attended Bertha High School and went on to be a nanny in the Twin Cities before meeting love of her life, LeRoy Robben. They were married on June 21, 1958 in Wrightstown, MN. After moving a few times, they eventually settled in Hastings, MN in 1973.

Avis worked with LeRoy in his business until he passed in 1985. After his passing, she worked at Target until retirement in 2005,

Avis was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, enjoyed exercising at the YMCA and spending time with her Grandchildren & eventually Great Grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flower gardens along with growing tomatoes and rhubarb.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, LeRoy Robben; parents, James Harold and Mabel Booen; son, Dennis Robben; and by 11 siblings.

Avis is survived by her children, Sharon Robben and Steve Robben; grandchildren, Amanda Riddle, Rebecca (Richard) Morris, Malinda (Nick) Bischof, Randy (Sidney) Riddle; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle Booen; sister-in-law, Janice Booen; and by many nieces, nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service for Avis will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hope Lutheran Church, 16898 Michael Avenue, Hastings with visitation one hour prior to the time of the service at church. Interment will take place at a later date at Peace Evangelical Cemetery, Bertha, Minnesota.
