Angie H. Thyen

Angeline “Angie” Helen Thyen, age 92, of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully at the Legacy of Farmington on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Angie was born on January 4, 1932 in Richmond, MN to George and Susan (Wengler) Schmidt. She graduated high school from Eden Valley. Angie met the love of her life, LeRoy “Speed” Thyen and they got married at St. Peter & St. Paul’s Church in Richmond, MN on October 30, 1954. They had their wedding reception at Thyen’s Bar. The presents from their guests were on the pool table, where they opened them.

She worked at Sears for 13 years as a Sales Associate, where she was always known for the smile on her face. Angie was a volunteer in Hastings for many years. She was volunteer of the year for the Hastings Hospital Auxiliary. She also volunteered for Guardian Angels Church, Meals on Wheels, and funeral lunches.

She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy “Speed” Thyen; son, John Thyen; sister, Delores Kemper; brothers, Jerome “Jerry”, Julius, and LuVern Schmidt.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Mike) Jordan, and many beloved family and friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Legacy of Farmington and the LifeSpark Hospice Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to TLC of Hastings and Hastings Family Service.

A visitation for Angie will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th St W, Hastings, MN 55033, with a visitation one hour prior to mass.

Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery in Hastings.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings.
