Angeline "Angie" Brown

January 9, 1926 — October 13, 2023

Angeline "Angie" Irma Mildred (Dille) Brown passed away on Friday evening, October 13, 2023 at the age of 97. Angie was dearly loved by all who knew her. Her smiles, hugs and love for others touched many hearts. She will be greatly missed.

She was born on January 9, 1926 to Fred and Lydia (Strusz) Dille in rural Red Wing, MN. She was the 8th of 9 children, all of whom preceded her in death, except her brother, Bernie. Angie was baptized, confirmed and married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hay Creek, MN. On June 23, 1956 Angie married Harlan Brown. Together they farmed in Cottage Grove, MN for many years until Harlan's death on September 1, 1996. Angie remained on the farm until an illness in May of 2014. She eventually moved to Benedictine Living Community-Regina (Regina).

Angie was a secretary with law firms in Red Wing, Denver and St. Paul. She worked on the farm for many years. After the children moved away from home, Angie started a job at the MN Department of Agriculture. She enjoyed daily walks in the country in all kinds of weather. Angie loved preparing for and hosting family gatherings at the farm. As a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hastings, MN, Angie was active in Bible class, Ladies Guild and Naomi circle. One of Angie's passions was helping people in need through her charitable donations.

Music was enjoyable to her, especially when she could sing along or clap her hands to the rhythm. She loved singing soprano solos for weddings and funerals with her beautiful voice. Angie was known for calling family and friends to sing, “Happy Birthday” on their special day.

While at Regina, Angie challenged herself and was a lifelong learner. She loved reading her daily devotions and solving word puzzles. Attending activities such as mind fitness, Bingo and exercise classes were very important to her.
