Andrew "Andy" W. Ostertag

Andrew William Ostertag, age 60, of New Trier, MN, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Friday September 1, 2023.

Andy was born in Rosemont, MN, on December 30, 1962, the son of Bernard and Kay (Thomas) Ostertag. He grew up and graduated high school from Rosemount, Minnesota.

Andy had a loving character, a reflective and thoughtful mind, an unwavering faith in God, and a quick whit humor and booming laugh. Andy worked as a mason for many years, and also had a passion for working with horses- training, as a farrier, and riding. He also dedicated a lot of his past time to riding motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time in the country, on his hobby farm, and with his family whom he was very proud of and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; and brother, Chris.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Starr; sons and daughters, Aaron (Betsy), Bethany, Hannah, Nickolas; granddaughters, Estelle and Madeline; his mother, Kay; brothers and sisters, Tim (Bev), Teresa (Paul) Marxen, Lee (Amy), and Laura Ostertag, his sister-in-law, Kathy; and many nieces and nephews and extended Otterness family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, MN with a visitation starting one hour prior at 9:00 A.M. Interment will immediately follow Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery and a light reception to follow back at the church.
