Alois "Allie" E. Feidt

April 18, 1936 — June 20, 2024

Alois “Allie” Feidt, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 20, 2024.


Allie was born on April 18, 1936, the youngest of four, in Douglas Township, Dakota County to Michael and Rose (Siebenaler) Feidt. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Trier and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1958.


Allie and JoAnn (Weiland) were married on June 6, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Trier and were then blessed with three daughters, Cheryl, Carla and Candace. He became a Master Electrician and was an Electrical Contractor for 50 years before retiring.


Allie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council member at Guardian Angels Parish, and a Snowmobile Club President.


He was proud of his 1954 red and white Chevy Bel Air. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. He and JoAnn spent many hours on the open road. Many miles were also driven in the family RV, visiting most of the continental U.S.


Allie is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnn; daughters, Cheryl (Bill) McCarthy, Carla (Bill) Phillips, Candace Dingmann; grandchildren, William (Caitlin) McCarthy, Connor (Emily) McCarthy, Brennan McCarthy, Matthew Dingmann, Kayla Phillips, Madelyn Dingmann, Meredith Dingmann; great-grandchildren, Bria McCarthy and Rylann McCarthy; sister, Monica Myers; and by many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.


He is preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Edwin Feidt and Katie Kangas.


Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Trier. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 9th from 5-8 p.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings and also one hour prior to the time of the Mass at church on Wednesday. Interment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Trier.


In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). A memorial gift can be given by visiting www.help.dav.org.
