Alice M. Harris

Alice M. (Holmes) Harris, age 70 of Hastings, died peacefully December 2, 2023 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Alice was born in Storm Lake, IA on December 24, 1952 to parents Richard A. "Dick" and Mardelle Holmes. After moving to Minnesota at a young age, she attended Hastings public schools, graduating from Hastings High School in 1970. She was employed at Regina Medical Center for over 40 years in various capacities, primarily as a cook.

In her free time Alice enjoyed puzzles, playing games, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Harris in April 1990 at First Baptist (now River of Life) Church in Hastings, of which they were both members.

Alice is preceded in death by her father Dick; brother, Hugh; and her husband Ken, who passed nearly four months prior to Alice on August 3, 2023 at Regina Senior Living in Hastings MN.

She is survived by her children, Richard Glen Harris and Hannah Rose Harris; her mother, Mardelle; sister, Barbara; her aunt, Mickey, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Alice was cherished by many and will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Alice's Life will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 12:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel. Burial will follow the celebration at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings on Saturday.
